#41631 Only getting white screen after Site Setup

I've manually attempted and have done the site transfer option, both connect to the new DB, both create the files in the directory, but neither are updating the configuration.php file and only display a white screen after the final setup steps.

I am now getting a new error:

Cannot connect to the database: one or more of the database host name, user name and password you have provided is incorrect.

Unable to connect to the Database: Unable to connect to the Database: Access denied for user ' **********'@'localhost' (using password: YES)


I have recreated the username, the password, and even created a new database.  Validating the user has privileges to the database as well.

I'm sorry, but the only thing this message means is that your database username and/or password is wrong. The message you see comes from the database server itself. It is relayed verbatim to you.

If you do not believe me, that's cool. I understand and won't take it personally. Download Adminer and upload its sole PHP file to your site. Run it, and enter the same connection info you entered in our restoration script. You will still get a connection error message. If you are still unconvinced, you can write your own little test script; it's so trivial that using ChatGPT, Claude or anything similar would result in something passable for this purpose.
