Hi,

I have updated a website on my work server (new content, new images), made a backup with Akeeba and uploaded it to the live site. Imported via "Import Archive" and then "Site Restoration". I noticed that files that are no longer contained in the new archive are not deleted, especially in the /images folder, and my customer had complained that "old" images were still being displayed. In fact, there were 2 files called image-02a.jpg and image-03a.jpg that no longer exist in the new archive but were not deleted during the installiton of the new archive.
Is there a switch that causes the files that are not included in the archive needed to be deleted?

Best regards, Peter

Hello,

no, you can't delete files that are not included in the backup. The only solution is to tell Kickstart to delete all the files prior to the restoration.

Please note that you should do that only if you're 110% sure that your backup archive is correct and working, since Kickstart will first delete and then extract. If the archive is corrupted, you'll end up with an empty site and no content to restore.
