Hello,

When I try restoring my site, I get the following error message:

Ajax loading Error (please see screenshot attached).

Any idea why?

Thank you

Can you please upload your screenshot to Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or something similar and paste here a public share URL?

The message says that your server returns a 403 error trying to access the administrator/components/com_akeeba/restore.php file. Please check with your host why this happens. In most cases it's something in your .htaccess file preventing direct access to .php files on your site.

The htaccess used is the one given by Joomla htaccess.text. I haven't made any changes to it. The host is DC Hostgator. There are other Joomla sites on this server that don't throw this error message.

All I can tell you from this error message is that something on your site / server which is not under our control in any way, shape, or form is definitely preventing web access to the file administrator/components/com_akeeba/restore.php. You should ask your host to check why you are getting a 403. They have access to the full error logs, they can see why the request is being blocked with a 403.
