I can't install a live site backup anymore on my local mamp 5.7....

The message is:

An error occurred

An unexpected error occurred

Did try permission change root folder but does not work.
The only difference is php version: site is 7.4.3, local mamp 7.4.2

Not sure if this can prevent kickstart to work.
Hope you have some tips to make it work.

Pascal

Hello,

before continuing, did you upload all the parts of the backup archive? If your backup is pretty large, you'll have several files named .jpa .j01 .j02 etc etc. You have to upload them all.

Did you try to check the option Ignore most errors?

If you still have issues, please open the kickstart file and search for the line with the word KSDEBUG (it should be in the very first lines). Remove the two forward slashes in front of it and try the extraction again. It will fail, but a debug file will be produced. Please zip it and attach it here, so I can review what's going on.

Hi Davide,

Backup file is only 1 .zip file.

Thanks for the tip, looking at the log file I discovered a strange file name;
Looks like this blocks restore process completely even with ignore most errors.
Will try and remove this image from live site, backup and try again.

Yes, most likely that file contains chars that are not supported by your operating system. Are you trying to restore locally or on another server?

Please try to exclude that file and try again.

This problem is solved. Pretty easy and had nothing to do with akeeba.
Reason of the error: there was an image file with a filename that was not allowed or recognized.
After rename all was fine.
