Hello,

I have a problem when restoring a jpa backup : the index.php is not restored...

Until now, I used to copy/paste the index.php from the orginal website, but when I upgrade the new site to J4, it crashes the update....

What can I do?

Thanks for Akeeba and Kickstart!

Based on what you wrote above, I understand that you claim that the index.php file which is normally present to the site's root is never written to disk. How did you determine that this is the problem?

This file, along with all the other files of your site are backed up (placed into the backup archive) at backup time. If the file cannot be read at backup time it produces a warning. Do you see any such warning?

When you run Kickstart it extracts all of the files present in the archive to your server. If it could not write the index.php file it would have told you and refused to proceed with the extraction. Did something like that happen?

Or do you mean something completely different? If so, what?

Hello, Nicholas,

Sorry if was difficult to understand!

The migation is working fine, my website is upgraded to J4, thanks to kickstart.

But I still have a problem with the index.php that is always "forgotten" when restoring the backup. I always need to copy/paste this file from the origina website.

The backup works well, the installation of the JPA file with Kicksatrt works well, no alerts, just the miss of the index.php file!

I can give yo uan access to the website or send you an archive...

Thanks for support

Please upload your backup archive somewhere I can download it from (e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, your site, or something similar) and give me a link to it. I will extract it locally and see if it contains an index.php file.

Hi,

Thanks for such a fast response!

I am trying to download the archive but it won't let me. It always stops about 60% into the download and won't let me resume it.

Can you please try using OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive? I don't like big tech either but you can't beat their reliability on file transfers :/

I restored your site. The index.php file exists just fine.

I think you actually misread the error message you are receiving and you misdiagnosed the problem, leading both of us to a wild windmill chase.

The error reads:

Call to undefined function imap_timeout()

A quick visit to https://www.php.net/imap_timeout tells us that this is part of the PHP IMAP extension. You need to ask your host to enable it.
