Hi there. I'm trying to publish an old site so that my client can retrieve information from it to put on their new site.

I have restored many times before but this isn't working - please see attached screenshots.

I assume I have some of the information wrong. I tried using your extraction tool but I think you no longer support it.

Is there anyway I can access the site's information please?

Many thanks,

Mark.

Hello,

what's the error reported? I can only see your db information and the site URL. Do you get an error while restoring the data, or when ANGIE tries to connect to your database? Is the database already created?

Hi Davide,

Thanks for your fast reply. The error code was on one of the screenshots I attached (attached again here).

The error comes when restoring the main database. I have successfully done it before on this site but it stopped working a few weeks ago. It is an old site that was called bhpgc.com but the client has moved away.

I must have the information somewhere but in the meantime is it possible to retrieve text from the site without publishing it (from the .jpa file)? Thank you.

Mark.

When you get an access denied error, it means that we can not authenticate with the database. This could happen because credentials are invalid (any of host, username, password or db name) or the database does not exist at all.

You can recover the contents of the sites, they are inside the installation/sql folder. However, those are very hard to read for humans, since they are meant to be feed directly inside the database.

My suggestion would be to try to make the database work, if that's not possible, restore it locally using a local webserver like XAMPP or MAMP.

Thanks Davide, I'll give that a go.
