I am trying to restore my site in xxamp, but the site keep redirecting to website domain name instead of local machine
In the Site Setup page during the restoration:
- Make sure the Site URL field is empty. If not, empty it.
- The right hand side has some options about the .htaccess. Select the options to delete the .htaccess and replace it with Joomla's default.
It's possible that you have third party extensions, typically SEF plugins, which might have the URL of your live site stored somewhere in the database. If this is the case ask their developer about how to temporarily disable them so you can access your site's backend and reconfigure them.

There is no way you didn't see that page. For a video demonstration of what that page looks like (albeit with fewer options since it's an older video) please go to Restoring a Site on Any Server and go to the time mark 4:10 in the video. You can watch the entire video if you want to understand the sequence in which the different restoration pages are show to you.
