 Hi,

I took over an old hacked WP site, cleaned it out and then began building a new Joomla site on a new domain.

All good until I duplicated the .asia site and directed the old domain to the new site. .com.au

Now I am receiving the 404 page hits of around 200 a day which i am redirecting to .asia. They are obviously from a bot comments hack on the old site.

The one with the most hits targerts wp/admin log in with 107 hits but then most are just 1 hot wonders

Is there anyway I can stop these.

Hello Darrel,

looking at your subscription plan, you should have access to Admin Tools Pro, right?
You can install it and then start banning those IPs or (even easier and more effective) create an .htaccess rule to immediately drop the connect if a visitor tries to load the old WP pages.

Hi, Thatnks for the speed with this answer.

Fantastic. I wish all Joomla developers where as switch on as the Akeeba team.

I have Admin pro uploaded. How do I create this rule please. I haven't done much with htaccess

Is there a site where i can learn these rules?

You have to write some regular expressions rules that will match those partial urls.
For example something like this:
RewriteRule ^.*wp-admin.*/?$
RewriteRule .* index.php [F]
You can find more info here and here you have an online tester for your rules.
