 Hi,

I'm moving to new Hardware and need to move my Joomla Sites. There for I bought Akeeba Backup Pro yesterday and installed it on the new Server.

Old System:
Joomla 2.5.28
PHP 5.2.6
MySQL 5.0.45
OpenSuse 10.3
Akeeba Core 3.2.10

New Server
Joomla 3.4.1
PHP 5.5.9
MySQL 5.5.43
ubuntu 14.04.1
Akeeba Backup Professional 4.2.0

On the old Server i made a full backup. Everytime I Import the backup to the new Server, the Administrator page is distroyed.

Fatal error: Call to undefined method JAdministrator::setHeader() in /var/www/vhosts/webseite.com/libraries/cms/html/behavior.php on line 750

What I'm doing wrong? Is there any HowTo?
Thank you

Kind Regards

Alex

Hello,

when you say "Import", how exactly are you doing that?
Moreover, is the site folder on the new server empty or there is an existing installation of Joomla?
If so, please clean it up and try again.

Well, i followed the instruction from the Video
https://www.akeebabackup.com/videos/63-video-tutorials/1508-abt06-restoring-to-new-server-using-kickstart.html

Currently there is a empty Joomla Installation.

Just to be clear, let's review all the passages:
  1. you backup on old server, Joomla 2.5
  2. transfer the archive on the new server
  3. extract it
  4. restore your site. So now you have a 2.5 site on your new server

After that what are you doing? Are you upgrading your Joomla installation? When the fatal error shows up?

I just think I noticed my error. Currently I did to following.

1. Backup joomla 2.5
2. Install Joomla 3.4 on new Server
3. copy Backup file to new Server
4. Add component Akeeba
5. Import backup
6. restore backup
-> Front End works
-> Back-End destroyed.

So if I get you right, I first have to install the old 2.5 Joomla on the new Server and then make a in-place upgrade?

Akeeba Backup is a tool for moving sites, not for upgrading them.
Please take a look at this page;
https://www.akeebabackup.com/home/news/1609-announcement-about-joomla-25-support.html

You will find some info about upgrading your site and a link to a video tutorial
