I am trying to restore a corrupted site.

I have tried with 2 different site*.jpa files, done 2 months apart.

The Restore process fails at the extraction stage. I get php error:

fseek() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /<myfolders>/_kickoff.php on line 2097

As I noted in the fields, I am not sure which version of Akeeba I have.

Hello,

I suspect there are some files missing.
Is your backup a multipart archive? If so, are you 100% sure you uploaded all the parts?
Can you please try to edit the kickstart file and remove the double slash from the line containing define('KSDEBUG', 1);

A new file named debug.txt will be created, can you please try to extract everything again and attach here the debug file?

I ran the script on 2 different jpa files.

The results were the same:

Total archive parts: 1
Preparing to read archive header
Opening the first part

Most likely you have a permission issue, please follow the instructions contained in this page of the manual and try again.

You were correct about the permissions. I set the html folder and now Akeeba can write.

However, the extract process still does not complete.

It runs for a few percent of the process and hangs without any indication. I have posted the top portion of the debug.txt file below. (It continues with similar entries.)

This is a shared host. The site has about 450Mb free space. The server timeout is 90. I tested with Hybrid and FTP. Results are the same.

This is amazing. We have used Akeeba backup/restore regularly with no issues.

Can you please zip and attach the full log here?
What's the error you are receiving during the extraction?
Does it always stop at the same file?
