 Bonjour,
During the devlopment of the jpa file (obtain from remote server), on a local (W8) P.C. I have a problem as you see on the attachement.
What is the problem, and what is the solution?
I can extract the jpa file with Akeeba Extract. It's OK.
But how, can I install the data base (mysql)
Thanks
Merci!
Sincerly Yours.
Daniel

If you can extract it with Akeeba eXtract you can very easily restore your site. Here are the simple steps:

  • Download the JPA archive to your desktop
  • Extract the JPA archive using Akeeba eXtract Wizard
  • Move the extracted files into your local web server's directory, e.g. c:\apache24\htdocs\mysite
  • Visit the local site from your browser, e.g. http://localhost/mysite
  • If the restoration script (ANGIE) doesn't appear immediately change the URL above to something like http://localhost/mysite/installation/index.php
  • Continue the restoration per the instructions on your screen
  • After the restoration is complete remove the "installation" folder from your local server's directory, e.g. remove c:\apache24\htdocs\mysite\installation
  • Your site is ready!

Kickstart simply takes care of the archive extraction before the restoration and removing the installation folder after the restoration. It is otherwise irrelevant to the actual restoration procedure. The restoration procedure depends only on the restoration script which is included in your backup archive when you are taking a backup of your site.
