Please check the "Ignore most errors" option in Kickstart and retry.

Hello

I have the same error with the option "Ignorer la plupart des erreurs" (Ignore most errors).

The root directory of my website is in the "R;\" drive (disk).
The error message is : "Impossible de créer le dossier administrator/R:/" (impossible to create the administrator/R:/ directory).

I tried to restore in another directory : same error
i modified the windows permission to have all permissions : same error
I tried with Internet Explorer AND Firefox : same error
I tried with an older backup (Akeeba Backup version 3.7.7) : same error

Thank you for your help.

Can you please try extracting with Akeeba eXtract Wizard?

In case you're wondering what's going on, this is a problem you have caused upon yourself and completely unrelated to our software. At some point you tried extracting a ZIP file you created on your computer to your site's administrator directory. Due to incompatibilities between Windows and Linux versions of the ZIP tools you ended up creating a directory called R: inside your administrator directory. Our software, of course, backed it up: it is a valid directory. Well, this is a valid directory name on Linux but an invalid directory name on Windows. Therefore trying to extract on Windows fails. Now we have to try to find out a workaround to the mess you created on your site.

Hello
I have tried extracting with Akeeba eXtract Wizard.
Without the option "Ignore most error" : i have the same error message (see attachment file)
With the option "Ignore most error" : the extract is good, then message is "Your archive was successfully extracted"

What can i do to know excatly where is the error ? What is wrong on my site ?
What can i do to have a correct site ?
(I have test this backup/restore to copy the site and upgrade the new site in Joomla 3.1.5)

I know. That's why I told you to use that option :)

I explained in my previous reply. Let me copy/paste the detailed explanation I already gave you:

Remove the directory named "R:" from your site's administrator directory (I mean the live site, on your server, not the one you restored on your PC). It was created in error. You don't need it and it is screwing you up during restoration. Therefore you need to delete it.
