Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 2.5.8
PHP version: 5.3.1
MySQL version: 5.5.16
Host: Local Server - Windows Server 2008R2 64-bit on VMware 5.1 ESXi Hypervisor
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: 3.8.1 Core
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: 3.6.0 Core

Description of my issue:

I have two environments setup with one being a production and the other being a staging site. Both servers have identical installs of the software versions. When I go to restore the site I receive an "Invalid Database Key". We have quite a few sites and have never run into this before. We also use PHPMyAdmin to manage MySQL. I've dropped the database and recreated and it still throws this error.

It is not the database, it is the data. You have relational tables in your database and they are not restoring in the "right" order, so you are getting key errors. On the database restore page, towards the bottom, there is a checkbox something about skipping foreign key checks. Check that box and the database should restore.

Dale,

I've checkmarked the box for "Suppressing Foreign Key Checks"javascript:ticketDoSubmit() and still receive the same error.

Well that's not what I wanted to hear. :-(

Is there anything unusual about this database? Does it contain Views, InnoDB tables, etc., anything like that?

No. This is a very typical Joomla installation with JCalPro and DocMan installed. We have about 50 sites installed in two environments (staging and production). We are not having this issue with other sites with identical configurations (other than different content).

PHP versions 5.3.0 up to and including 5.3.4 are known to be extremely buggy (not to mention that they are 3 years old and more than twenty three versions behind - the current PHP 5.3 version is 5.3.27). Please ask your host to do what they haven't done in the last three years: update their server. This is what you're paying them for. If they don't deliver you have to switch hosts. A host who doesn't care having a server outdated by more than three years can't be taken seriously. It's the Internet equivalent of a rental car agency only having beat up 1980 Fords and trying to convince you that they are top notch.
