Description of my issue:
I am trying to migrate a Joomla site from godaddy to Hostgator. But when i try to do a restore in the new hosting i get an error at the beginning of the database migration: SQL=CREATE DATABASE `indi0_tecnoseguro` CHARACTER SET `utf8`

Thanks

This means that your db user has no permission to create the database.
Try to manually create it from the control panel of your site and then restart your restore.

Thanks David, You were right, the problem was solved giving privileges to the user.
I can complete the restoration, but now when I try to open the home, the page redirect me to www.hostname.com/username/username

And the right URL should be hostname/username without the www at the beginning and the last username

Thanks

It seems there is a redirection error.
have you got any rules handling this process inside the .htaccess file?
does your new hosting support that file?
Did you create any rule inside Joomla redirection component?

Thanks Davide,

Finally, i could migrate my site www.tecnoseguro.com to the new host. I finally chose Rochen like hosting company, after doing some tests, i could see that Rochen is faster than Godaddy and HostGator, really good.
The problem in the preview post was generated because i was using sh404sef component. So, the solution was make the backup again BUT whit the SEF disabled. After that, the migration wasn't a problem.

For future backups, the questions is ... there is a way to create a backup without disable the SEF?

I've seen this issue a few times. It seems that using the Purge URL Cache (or something along those words; I haven't seriously used sh404SEF in ages) is the trick to fixing that issue. I mean, you have to do that in the restored site, not the one you are backing up from.
