Joomla! version: 1.5.26
PHP version: (unknown) 5.3
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: joomlapack 2.4.1
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: joomlapack installation folder

Description of my issue:

Hello,

I've restore one of my site, using a backup zip made with joomlapack 2.4.1.
The front-end site is ok, and the database seems to be OK too.
but I can't access to the login back-end page
http://mydomain.com/administrator/index.php
I'm automaticly redirected to the front-end page
http://mydomain.com

I've disabled the .htaccess file of the root folder...
I've tryed to replace all the administrator directory with another one coming from another joomla site with the same version...
I've tryed to install this backup on another server and on my local machine...
the problem is always there in any case

I don't know where to look for...

I've renamed my administrator folder and created another one with a simple index.php inside :
in this case I can access inside that administrator folder.

Please I need an help.

Thanx a lot....

Oh, wow, that's a blast from the past :) I haven't run JoomlaPack since December 2009, when I started working on Akeeba Backup.

Here's what. JoomlaPack was never really designed to work on PHP 5.3. Remember, I stopped writing code for it in December 2009. PHP 5.3 was made available in my pre-packaged dev environments more than 6 months after that. The combination you're using is not just obsolete and unsupported, it's in fact doomed to fail.

If you have the option to take a new backup, please install Akeeba Backup 3.4.3 on your site and take a new backup. If taking a new backup is not an option you can try the Emergency Manual Restoration procedure described in our documentation.

Remember that replacing the administrator directory is never a good idea. It won't work, unless the sites are identical (which means that the replacement doesn't make any sense either).

Thanx for your answer.
I understand that this version is very old.
but this backup is unfortunatly the only one I have.

I've tryed to re-install it without using the installation folder.
-I've uploaded all files of the zip archive
-re-configured manualy the configuration.php file
-and import the database manualy with phpMyAdmin

The problem is always the same when I'm trying to access to the administrator folder :
automaticly redirected to the home page.

Do you have any other suggestion to give me ?
a clue where I need to look for ?
Thanx by the way...

I don't think that the problem you have comes from the restoration. It's either something in your .htaccess or there's a system plugin which does this redirection.
