Hi Nikolaos,
I'm having some problems with kickstart restoring.
I have created a backup of my site - everything ok
Upload and extracted using Kickstart - everything ok

When I click on "Install" I get a 500 error.
The weird thing is that now I can't run Kickstart again, since I still get the 500 error on every page.

However, I created a dummy file, echoing 'foo' and it works fine.
Even if there is no .htaccess file, I created it, trying to uncomment the RewriteBase directive - no help

Permissions are ok: 755 for folders, 644 for files and the owner is the correct one, I checked by a week ago backup

Can you help me?

Looking at server logs, this is the error:

I believe this tells it all:

Apparently your host doesn't like folders having 0755 permissions and files having 0644 permissions. Please ask them what the permissions should be and change the permissions of the extracted folders and files before proceeding with the restoration.

Luckly the hosting has a feature named "Fix permissions".

I run that and now everything is working.

Just for curiosity sake, I took a look using Filezilla and...

folders are 0755 and files 0755

O_o

However, now it's working...
