Description of my issue:

Hello,

that's my question.

In order to have a new version of my website (example: mysite.com) I've created a developing subdirectory called dev.mysite.com where I've built a website with Joomla.

The main structure of mysite.com has several subdomains and for example subdomain1.mysite.com
has a wide community powered by vBulletin.

Once I have created my site in joomla in a subdir called dev.mysite.com, I would use Akeeba to perform the restore on the root of mysite.com without destroying all other subdir where there is other data that should not be changed.

Is it possibile or I'll have issues?

Thank's

nicholas

Restoring a backup does not delete anything. It will only overwrite existing files and folder if same-named files and folders exist in your backup archive. So, no, I don't expect to see any issues with the process you describe.
