Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes, AB guide and AB quick start guide
Joomla! version: (2.5.4)
PHP version: (5.3.10)
MySQL version: (5.0.92)
Host: ( )
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: (Pro 3.5.0)
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: (not used)

Description of my issue: This is my first use of Akeeba Backup. I used the transfer function to move the site from XAMPP on my local computer to a sub-directory of a site at GoDaddy (http://solutionitservices.com/test/carlat12/). The initial transfer hit an error. I downloaded the log, then wanted to see the link to the troubleshooting guide, so clicked the browser back button (more than once) and the transfer started loading again. I let the second running of the transfer run to completion. The site worked fine and changes were successfully made using the back end. Then I went to Components > Akeeba Backup > Configuration and go a "No input file specified' text in an otherwise blank web page. After that message displays, then both the front end and the back end will display the same message on all links. After a period of time, the problem heals and everything works fine until I again select a feature in the back end that displays the same error.

I read through the troubleshooting guide on the website.

I think that not all files loaded because of the interruption in the transfer. If this is a case of missing files, I want to do another transfer to the same sub-directory. The literature does not mention the best way to handle a re-transfer. Can I just run another transfer to the same destination and the files will be all over-written or do all the files need to be deleted from the destination before another transfer is run?

Thanks - Mike Jones

PS - this is the second time this ticket was submitted. I did not show in my account, probably because I forgot to add a 'Topic'.

The "No input file specified" is a hosting issue. I would normally tell you to seek assistance by your host, but since you are on GoDaddy that's pointless. You just have to live with their lack of service quality.

You should be able to run a new transfer, of course. If this is not possible, there is still a workaround. Take a normal backup. Then, move the backup archive to the target site's directory and upload kickstart.php over there. Just run Kickstart and restore the backup there. Really, the Site Transfer Wizard does the same thing without the archive-unarchive step :)
