Joomla! version: (unknown)n/a

Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: (unknown)3.4.3
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: (unknown)n/a

Description of my issue:
I am trying to install the Extract wizard on Ubuntu Linux 11.10 (Oneiric) and despite installing the required libraries, I keep getting an error regarding libX11.so.6.

When I run the file command against the extracted 'extract' file, it tells me it is actually this:-
ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped

Is this the right file, or is there something else likely to be wrong please Nic?

Thanks.

Somehow you ended up downloading the 32-bit version. The 64-bit version's link is this: https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/akeeba-extract-wizard/akeeba-extract-wizard-3-3/extract-linux-x86_64-gtk2zip.raw

Please note that I built that release last August, so I guess it should be linked against Ubuntu Linux 11.04 (Natty). Maybe you'll have to do some symlinking around in your lib directory. If all else fails, the Windows version works like a charm under WINE :) Plus, you've got Ubuntu, just install the LAMP stack and you can use Kickstart on it.

Hi Nic,

Many thanks for the prompt reply - excellent service as always, BUT

I downloaded the file by clicking on the Linux 64-bit download link, and the file name is extract-linux-x86_64-gtk2.zip, which suggests that it is 'supposed' to be the 64-bit version.

I will try grabbing the file from the link above and check it out, but you may have a dodgy link...??

Update: I have downloaded the file from the supplied link and it is identical to the one I originally downloaded, and reports itself as a 32 bit blah blah as above.

Hm, that's interesting. The package is, indeed, a 32-bit version of eXtract because the 64-build process apparently failed. I uploaded the correct package now, but it will take 24 hours before it's made available for download from our CDN. Can you retry downloading and using it tomorrow?

Hi Nic.
I will give it a go again tomorrow and let you know.

OK.

New version is definitely the right file type 8v))

I will try and run tests at the weekend and let you know if there are any probs.

Thanks Nic.

Thank you for the heads up! It turns out that in both of my Linux systems I had the 32-bit libraries installed, hence I didn't spot the wrong file type earlier.

Hi Nic.

There are a couple of environemtn error messages on my Ubuntu 11.10 box as shown here:

(extract:2487): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "pixmap",
[CRITICAL] os_pager_hide: assertion `OS_IS_PAGER (pager)' failed

(extract:2487): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_widget_hide: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed
[CRITICAL] os_pager_set_parent: assertion `OS_IS_PAGER (pager)' failed

BUT - it appears they are cosmetic? as the extract routine ran Ok and produced perfectly good files... many thanks.

Yes, these are only cosmetic, you can safely ignore them.
