Hi

I read your post on https://www.akeebabackup.com/news/1694-gdpr-and-akeeba.html
As we are in a similar position and have to decide what to do with inactive accounts

I just wondered how you decided on the 18 month period as in my research I can't find a reference to a time frame

I may be one of a few who read the whole page :)

Thanks
Paul

GDPR calls for data minimization. One of the guidances they give is deleting inactive data. According to GDPR consultants that’s about six months after the data becomes irrelevant to your business.

We decided to have an ease-off period before we applied this draconian measure. So we start with an 18 month cutoff period. In September we will reduce it to 12. In January we’ll reduce it to 6. GDPR affords you that much leeway since you can claim business interests and that’s absolutely true; we don’t want to alienate our returning clients!
