I'm currently using Admin Tools Core 3.3.1 and Akeeba Backup COre 4.0.5. Both now outdated but I noticed in Joomla!'s Update Manager that the Pro versions of the software are listed so I'm getting a 403 error when trying to update this way.

This is how it has been ever since I started using these software and I have always had to update manually.

Is this how it's supposed to work? Is automatic update only available for Pro versions of the Software?

P.S I'm not sure if this is the right category, but subscribing to get support on this issue would render this issue moot.

Hello Samuel,

which version do you have installed?
Looking at the screenshot, it says you installed professional versions.
If you don't have a valid subscription and you don't put your Download ID inside the component option page you'll get the 403 error you are experiencing.

No I don't have the professional versions installed. I've never purchased or downloaded the pro versions of these software.

I've just updated manually but I can provide screenshots:

Please remove the Download ID from the components and clear Joomla cache. That should fix you issue.

Alright I'll do that thanks. I've already updated so I'll see for your next release.

It's probably a good idea to remove that option in the CORE releases though. Since it's not required and will actually cause problems, don't you think!? Or at least code it so it won't adversely affect anything.

Anyway thanks again. I'll refer to this ticket if I have any more issues in the future re this subject.
