My understanding at the moment is "so lo" that I need to ask this potentially embarrassing question.

So, if I own the following:

* A typical shared hosting account with many Joomla 1, 1.5, and 2.5 sites, and a couple WP sites
* A VPS with mostly Joomla 1.5 sites
* A Plesk Panel server with several accounts (all mine) Joomla 2.5 and 3, WP 3.x and 4 sites, and other misc. scripts

I am only making a total of three installations of Solo?

It's not embarrassing at all :) As long as Akeeba Solo can read the files of the sites on the server and access their databases you only need one installation of Solo per server.

Excelent. It will be interesting to see if/how it works on the Plesk Panel (AWS EC2 hosted) environment across accounts.

Will my experience in that regard be useful to you and your users?

Thank you Nicholas!

Yes, it would be useful to know. I know what is required on a server level (one account being able to read each other account's files) but I don't think Plesk would allow that. You'd probably have to add the account hosting Solo to a special group which has read/browse access to all folders under /home, noting that this is not a very good idea security-wise.
