My site got hacked yesterday :-(
I have been faithful to keep my Joomla 1.5.15 installation up to date.

Thankfully I have been backing up with JoomlaPack! This is my first restore, so I have some questions:

- I could not find kickstart.php in the JoomlaPack installation on my server, so I downloaded Kickstart from the JoomlaPack website, unzipped it and copied kickstart.php to my website. Was this correct?

- Because my site was hacked, would it be advisable to delete all files from my website before running Kickstart? I have begun Kickstart w/o deleting anything and I hit an occasional file permissions issue.

Thanks!

Yes, you need to download kickstart separately, it is not a part of the component.

Don't leave anything behind, like Sherman through Georgia. Delete the files, delete and recreate the database, change all the passwords, host, ftp, database, admin, etc. It will take you longer to change all the passwords than to restore the site. When you delete the files, you won't get the permission problems any more.
