I'm trying to package translation to Brazilian Portuguese and I'm having problems with accents in words. Type: ã á é í ó ç õ.

How to configure them properly?

You have to encode your files in local Windows encoding (usually refered to as ANSI in text editors), and NOT as UTF-8 or Unicode. Besides that, the only thing you should take care of is that your Windows environment uses the correct encoding for non-Unicode programs. I don't have Windows XP anymore, but I remember that this was under Regional Settings, hidden in the last tab of a dialog in there.
