After restoration frontpage disappear , http://sitename.com redirect to admin page. Index.php file isn't correct it is from administrator folder (I assume that). I'am using com_joomlapack-2.4.b2-plus because com_joomlapack-2.3.3-plus hang on backup folder (It's commomn problem of this version described on this forum). Does anyone had that same problem or have any clue why after restoration frontpage redirect to admin page.

dlb
Actually the 2.3.3 version is fine, it is 2.4.b1 that has the problem. But that is fixed in your b2 version.

Is your site redirecting to the admin page or the installation page? Redirection to installation, if it exists, is normal. If that is the case, you need to delete the /installation folder.

Redirection to admin is not normal. :( Do you have any special redirection commands in your .htaccess file? Do you have an extension installed that would allow a dual login, front end and back end at the same time?

/Installation folder was deleted automically after restoration. The only component which could mess something was Artio JoomSef but even when I disable it doesn't help. Does it normal if index.php after restoration looks like this attached.
I have little knowledge about joomla so sorry if it is stupid question but does it shouldn't be something like this
$mainframe =& JFactory::getApplication('site');
I have that
$mainframe =& JFactory::getApplication('administrator');

I had to zip file index-20091027.zip

dlb
Wow. That is the wrong file. That's the one out of the administrator folder, why didn't somebody think of that? :oops:

It is easy enough to change that one file, but what else didn't get moved to the right location? That shouldn't happen, I want Nicholas to look at this thread.

Well there are many missing file for example my own template wasn't backed up (sorry for my english if it wasn't correct word ;) ) and even if I copy correct index.php to server i got error, so at this moment I have lost my test website and I'm waiting for solution :(.

P.S
When I used version 2.3.3 the backup proces hangt in loop on backup folder and finally I always got 2GB file.

This looks like the extraction process got all messed up. I would like to see the backup log to be sure that there were no problems with the backup.

Also, how did you extract the archive? If you used your system's unzip command (e.g. through an SSH session) it may be possible that it didn't extract the subdirectories correctly. I have seen this happening with unzip, I have not seen this happening with Kickstart or eXtract.

I have confirmed and solved this problem. It was due to a bug concerning the handling of sites whose root appears to be an empty string. The fix of this problem is still considered experimental, as I am unable to reproduce this kind of server setup and conduct proper testing. Anyway, you can use the latest developer's release from the Bleeding Edge and tell us how it works out for you.

Please don't post in multiple threads. I already responded in your original thread.
