Hello,

I've two Joomla 1.0.15 sites to backup.
With the same settings one of the sites is backup with JoomlaPack Remote. The other doesn't.

I've set the XML-RPC to ww.example.com/index.php?option=com_joomlapack&act=xmlrpc&no_html=1
But I get the code: XML-RPC layer error: XML error: no element found at line 1, column 0

This message I get in the informatiebox of JoomlaPack Remote.

Could you point me what's wrong?

Arco

I need to have Nicholas look at this one.

This means that the result JPRemote got from your site was not proper XML as it is supposed to be. This usually happens when PHP errors/warnings/notices mess up the XML-RPC layer output or a misconfiguration doesn't allow the integrated XML-RPC layer to handle the request.

First, make sure the front-end backup feature is enabled. Otherwise, XML-RPC backup is not possible. If this doesn't help, visit the XML-RPC address from your browser and copy & paste the response here, please.

Thanks for this reply.

The frontend backup is enabled. Yesterday the message I received when I put the url in my browser was something similar to what I reported.
Now it's the following:
501 - A lock was detected. Another backup is running, or a previous operation hung. Consult the manual.

There's no other operation running. So this says the previous operation hung.

I didn't find information about this response. Either in the forum nor with the searchfunction of the site.

I hope you can help me!

Go to the JoomlaPack Control Panel in the back end, that should clear the lock. That is about all the help I can give you on this one.

OK, it seems that the XML-RPC data posted from JPRemote do not reach your site. I am not sure why this happens, though. Have you tried setting up your site using the Expert Mode button?
