Greetings,
I am still 'new' to this so please bear with me as I learn.

I have created my Joomla site on my computer and using JoomlaPack, backed it up, sent it via FTP to my hosting company, FTPed the Kickstart utility and ran it, but during the process of running kickstart.php, I get an error: Could not open logs/index.html for writing.

Assistance in this regards would be appreciated!

This looks like a file permission problem with that file. I'm not sure why that file and no others. There have been some recent improvements in kickstart's ability to resolve this, but they haven't reached a stable release yet. Version SVN425 is available on our Bleeding Edge page. Let's try that version and ftp mode and see if that will resolve the write issue.
