Hi, I am trying to migrate my data over to a different server, and I used Joomapack to make a backup, uploaded it to the new website, and I go to the administer backup files screen...and the backup file will not show. I assume the way you restore the backup is to go to this screen, select the checkbox of the backup you want to restore and then click on "restore" but maybe I am wrong. Can you please confirm this and make a suggestion to make this work? I am a bit frustrated right now.

Thank you for your help.

you are correct. by doing this it initiates the kickstart process. i had to reread your post before I replied because at first I did not know what you were talking about.

Hi, thanks for your reply mbrown. Can you give me some advice on how to get my uploaded archive to show up on the list of archives in order to restore it? Thanks.

Since you are restoring to a different server, you are in fact performing a migration, not a restoration. You don't even need Joomla! installed on the new server!

Just upload kickstart.php and your backup file to your site's root. If your new site is accessible at http://www.example.com then you should visit the address http://www.example.com/kickstart.php . Easy, right?

Before you go with this procedure I suggest that you read our thorough documentation. I suggest you to read the following chapters, in the order I give you:

[url:1qsvcqwn]http://www.joomlapack.net/help-support-documentation/joomlapack-2x-documentation/kickstart.html
[url:1qsvcqwn]http://www.joomlapack.net/help-support-documentation/joomlapack-2x-documentation/kickstart-beforeusing.html
[url:1qsvcqwn]http://www.joomlapack.net/help-support-documentation/joomlapack-2x-documentation/kickstart-operating.html
[url:1qsvcqwn]http://www.joomlapack.net/help-support-documentation/joomlapack-2x-documentation/jpi3reference.html

This fully covers the migration/restoration process. Should you have any questions, just post back here :D

Wow, thats cool! I would like to do this, can you please tell me where the kickstart.php file is located in order to get it and upload it?

My mistake, I saw the download page again and it was there. Thanks again for your help.
