My backup jumped from 169mb to 593mb to 3gb within a very short amount of time and I am trying to find the cause. I have most usual file/dir excluded. I can't use SiteDiff because I use a mac.

Hello Kane,

Even though you are using a Mac you can still use SiteDiff. I know because I am a Mac user myself :) All you need is install DarWINE, a Windows emulator for Mac OS X. This allows you to run many Windows programs. I've tested it with SiteDiff and works just fine.

That said, you can also solve your issue by looking at the backup log. Search for the phrase "large files". You will see which are the large files being back up and their size in bytes. My educated guess is that you either have a huge error_log file in a subdirectory or you are backing up your old backups.

Thanks Nicholas, I will look into Darwine... I did find the issues... had to do with large file interviews I uploaded to a file for another to access and forgot about them. Got it down to a small 172mb again :)
