EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing the Remote Control and Akeeba Backup log files if you are reporting an Akeeba Remote Control issue, othrewise we can not help you. Remember that your attachment must be a ZIP file! Other file formats (including .txt) may be silently rejected by our site.

Description of my issue:
php remote.phar --action=backup --host=http://something.com --secret=xxxxxxxxx -profile=2 --download --dlmode=curl --dlpath="/web stuff/" --dlurl="ftp://[email protected]:[email protected]/public_html/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup"
the site connects and runs the backup but I get Error #103: Could not download xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.zip-- 9 : Server denied you to change to the given directory

Hello Ivan,

The backup is, indeed, completed successfully. The problem comes from your site's FTP server. It denies changing the current working directory to the backup output directory. This can mean one of the following:
- You have entered the wrong path.
- The path exists, but its ownership/permissions do not allow the currently used FTP user to change into it

Please try connecting to your site suing FileZilla and the same credentials you are using with Remote CLI, i.e. username [email protected], then try navigating to the backup output directory. This will allow you to see the correct path, as well as figure out if there are permissions problems.

Hello I have now sorted the path by removing "public_html" from the path I now get this Backup finished successfully
Successfully renamed site-something.com-20120428-113943.zip to 1
Successfully downloaded site-something.com-20120428-113943.zip
Archive downloaded successfully but when I look at the file it is unreadable, not in zip format and useless how can I fix this? I can download the same file from the site and it is fine so something is wrong please advise

According to your log file the backup is successful. Have you read our documentation regarding ZIP files and the known issues with third party extraction scripts? Have you tried extracting the file with Kickstart or Akeeba eXtract Wizard?

Hello I am getting there now. I have successfully downloaded the site but I don't understand why the file is renamed "1" as I then have to rename it again and add the .jpa extension to be able to extract it.

Hm, that's a good question. This sounds like you have an older version of Remote CLI. Can you try re-downloading and using version 1.2 please?

NO, it's not a bug. I just tested with a freshly downloaded copy of 1.2 from our site and three different sites, with two different profiles each. In all six cases the file was downloaded under the proper name.

One thing I noticed in your command line is that you specify -profile=2 when it should be --profile=2 (two dashes in front). Apart from that detail, I don't see anything else in your command line which could justify this issue.

When you run Remote CLI, does the first line read
Akeeba Remote Control CLI 1.2 (2012-03-05)
or is it something else?
