Hi, I was just wondering if it was possible at the moment, to include the category of a new ticket as a title on the 'Create a New Ticket' page? I can't find any settings to do this, and I currently have 'Show Page Title' set to 'Yes' in the Menu Item settings but nothing is displayed.

It would just be helpful if the category which was selected on the previous page was carried forth and displayed as the title.

If it isn't currently possible, would you consider putting it on the wishlist for a future release?

Thanks
Nicola

Let me make sure we are on the same page - literally and figuratively :)

If you have a New Ticket page for a specific category the page title is the name of the category. You can verify this by going to our site's Support page, click on any category and then click the New Ticket button. As you can see the title of the page is the category name.

When you go through a New Ticket page which is not for a specific category this is not possible due to the way Joomla! menu structures work. The page title is whatever you have defined in the menu item which has the New Ticket page. However, we can and do display the category title in the component header, right above the ticket form. According to our experience this in-page header, in large type, is what users look at. Nobody seems to be looking at the page title, not to mention that all non-desktop browsers outright hide it.

Thanks Nicholas, I am referring to the title which appears above the empty ticket, not the browser page title.

On your own site, when you select a category the category is shown (within the title) above the empty ticket on the next page. On my site this doesn't happen.

I have attached some screen shots, I'm not sure what I have missed in settings?

This is part of the default view template in Akeeba Ticket System. There is no option to enable or disable it, it is always shown. This is what I mean:

One possibility is that you've done a template override and removed the header. The other possibility is that you have a CSS rule which hides the H1 tag in the body.

Sorry for wasting your time Nicholas, I went back and checked again and the Show Title setting for this page was set to 'No' because I didn't want the title showing on the list of tickets page. However, since I want it on the page that you go to if you click on the 'New Ticket' button from the ticket list page, then I have to set the show title to Yes/global otherwise it doesn't show on the new ticket page.

So now it shows on both pages, when I only wanted it to show on the one (new ticket) page. But that's better than not showing up on either.

Thanks
Nicola

Yes, what you bumped into is a result of how Joomla! menus work.

An alternative would be to create a hidden menu in Joomla!. In there create menu items for the New Ticket page for each category. ATS should pick that up and use those (hidden) menu items after you select a category in the new ticket page.
