 I just set up the ticket system. however, I cannot seem to get email notification to work. when I test the email in email templates everything works fine. but in real life scenario no emails are being sent.

Hello,

did you set the notification email correctly inside the WAF configuration page?
Can you please try to manually trigger a security exception and see if you get the email?
Are security exceptions being recorded in your site?

Can you please double check if the Akeeba Ticket System - New post notification emails plugin is enabled? It belongs to the ATS group.
