 Hello,

I was not sure if it will work as I understand, so I've read part of the documentation again. It is always good to read for new features, and really a pleasure to Read The F... Manual ;-) You've done a great job!

So in the last paragraph "Good to know" here
https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-ticket-system/component-frontend.html
As a member of the support staff you can file a ticket on behalf of a user in the front-end. Just click the New Ticket button in the category you want the ticket to be filed in. In the new ticket page you will now see a field called User. Use the Select User button next to it to select the user you're filing this ticket on their behalf.

But when tested with my test user, there is NO notification email sent to him (the user I'm filling this ticket for). Is it the expected result?
If yes, would it be a reasonable feature request?

Note: when created from the back-end, it sends a notification, but as you recommend, I prefer not to manage ticket from here. Plus this is different user roles and access.

Kind regards,
Hervé

Actually, NO notification is sent neither when a (test) user open a new ticket himself... :-(( Very strange, contacting SiteGround support to have email logs...

Hello Hervè

at the moment this is the expected behavior.
When a user creates the ticket, it doesn't receive a notification for a new ticket: he just did that!

When you create the ticket on user behalf you simply substitute yourself with the user, that's why the user don't get the notification.

However I can see the use case: you have to notify the user when you create a ticket for him. We'll add it to our todo list and we'll try to add it in the next release.

Hello Davide,

Thank you for your quick reply. I understand the expected behaviour. At the same time I have some email delivery doubts from AKSUBS, so I wanted to make sure about ATS first, to isolate the debugging scope.

Nice to have the option in a future release, and maybe the same implemented for the use case, and the general user creating a ticket, that want to receive a copy of it, even if he just did that (you have some weird ones, I'm sure ;-): like the Joomla contact form had a tick box "Send me a copy of this ticket". So maybe a single code can work for both, but you know better than me!

Have a nice day and week, and thank you and Nick for these great softwares (and core contributions) that make Joomla Rock!

Kind regards,
Hervé

We have fixed this issue. Next week I'm going to publish ATS 1.6.0 which will include this fix.
