We would like to be able to do the following:
1) Have textarea custom fields with adjustable column and row sizes
2) Get rid of default message box in a ticket submit view for a category that relies on custom fields.

Please advise.

Hello Paul,

regarding the textare field, I think that we can implement it, since we already did it inside Akeeba Subscriptions and the logic should be the same.

Regarding your second point of the list, I can't understand what are you going to achieve.
Can you please send a screenshot of what you want to change?

1. As Davide said it's on our to-do list. I'm actually writing the code right now.

2. Likewise, I am not sure what you mean with "default message box". If you mean the main text of the ticket, you can simply set the default text in the category to be empty. You cannot completely remove it when creating a new ticket. This is a support ticket system, not a custom forms component.
