I just noticed the following in ATS (on this site).

I selected "open", but since (public) tickets are open currently, the list is empty. But I got the above message.

Maybe the following would be better?

"There are no public tickets with status ... ".

 

Even though technically your message is correct (most probably there are open tickets, but private tickets, and hence the "no access" message?)

The thing that we can't really know if the tickets list is filtered out because there are no public tickets or because the user does not have view access to the category without doing a double query (which would be a huge performance issue – ergo a bug).

I would like a better error message, but why confuse users? If they can't see private tickets they really don't have access to tickets in the category.
