Hi there, I seldom log in to solo backup since I automatized and set and forget the process, at least I thought it was.

I've been using Solo version from 2 years now and never had an issue.

However I have a client that I'm not working with him anymore, so I'm going to give the latest backup before he goes away.

I (very) carefully tried to log in and I couldn't.

I verified several times user, password and Secret Code. I confirm I never ever changed it. Even though I cannot log in to the Akeeba Solo backup page.

I followed the documentation on

https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/akeeba-solo/system-management.html (changing password to changeme)

I reconfirm that I cannot login , so I suspect the Secret Code seems to be invalid or there is somehting else going on, since the Secret Code never has changed that I can remember.

So currently I'm asking if you can help me, and If I can sort out this problem, I'd like also to ride the Secret Code once for all, since I thinks it is VERY annoying to deal with user, password AND a secret code that it seems to block the access to the application.

Everything you need is in the solo_ak_users table (the prefix may be different in your installation).

Find the record of your user, like you already did.

Right now, you have only changed the password field.

Edit the parameters field and set it to {} with nothing between the curly braces. This disables Two Factor Authentication in your user account.

Please note that Two Factor Authentication is an OPTIONAL feature, for improved security. That is to say, you chose to enable it. It's not forced upon you. Also note that most password managers such as 1Password, KeePassXC, or even Safari's built-in password manager do support authenticator codes and can auto-fill them along with your username and password. But, as I said, this is an optional feature; you don't need to enable it if you don't think you need it.

Hi Nicholas,

I followed your instructions.

I've changed parameters to {}

but I still cannot log in

I've tested all passwords combinations, the previous one and the explained in the page.Β

I don't know if a partial install could fix the issue?

Are you sure you are editing the correct tables, in the correct database?

I finally made a partial reinstallation. I found the entire website was automatically migrated because it changed the host , therefore rendering Akeeba with an older/wrong configuration.

The partial reinstall fixed the problem using a fresh configuration and it is working properly.

Sorry for bothering you and thanks for your help.

Closing the ticket.

PD: I'm going to take more time around the Two Factor Authentication . I know it is for my own good, but sometimes it's irritating.
