I'm using 1&1 hosting (Linux). Under the Public_html folder I have an existing folder domaincom (not the real name but had to provide you with something) with my Joomla install which is resolving fine. I created a subfolder with 755 permissions called akeeba2016 and extracted standalone version 2.1.2 within the folder then ran the web install. It installed fine. I tried to create my first backup of the domaincom site and with your online instructions I let the software autodetect the preferred settings. The backup failed stating that it could not locate the "Embedded restoration script" and when I went to the configuration>advanced configuration to try to select one it is blank. The subfolder Solo/assets/installers seems to have them listed though. I've attached the folder list. Here's the error keeba\Engine\Archiver\Base:: Installer package /homepages.../akeeba2016/Solo/assets/installers/foobar.jpa of embedded installer angie not found. Please go to the configuration page, select an Embedded Installer, save the configuration and try backing up again.

Hello,

all your installers have size of 0.
I suspect there was a transfer error. Can you please try to install Solo again and double check that such files have a proper filesize instead being empty?

Trying it now.

All downloads (tried in IE and in Chrome) are coming down as 2,681KB without failure. Unzipped the subfolder files are 0 bytes. I had to perform clean install of 2.0.3 (what I had locally) to get it started. Will let you know if the online update works.

Ok so no problem with version 2.0.3 but as soon as I try to update to 2.1.2 it shows as successful but breaks the "Embedded Restoration Script" portion and in FTP check the /Solo/assets/installers are now all 0 bytes. Something not right with the installer.

It seems there was a packaging issue, in Akeeba Solo; all installers are empty files.
We're going to re-upload the package very shortly.
