I may have posted the wrong log file. I changed the Amazon S3 from v4 Signature Method to v2 Signature method but the backup still fails.

I suppose you are using either release 4.4.0, 4.4.1 or the beta release 4.4.2.b1. We'll release a new version tomorrow which addresses this issue. I hve updated to version 1.5.2 and this is the error i get.

Site is not bakcing up at all.

I am pretty sure based on your error message that the site is backed up in full, it's only the transfer to Amazon S3 that doesn't run. According to the error message your server has trouble accessing the SSL encrypted (HTTPS) version of Amazon S3's endpoint. Can you please go the Configuration page, Post-processing engine, Configure and disable the Use SSL option?
