Hello,

I created a new profile in akeeba solo. In this profile I want to backup files only (no database).
However, akeeba solo does not let me proceed to backup this profile because I get this error:

on akeeba solo itself, the error reads:
S012 - Missing database connection information for backup
if I click on this error in akeeba solo, a page opens up in my browser and the title reads:
Q012 - Missing database connection information for backup
(note the Q and S codes) (https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/warnings/q012.html)

But, why is it asking me for database data, since I DON'T want to backup the database?
I have selected in the profile options Backup Type > Site Files Only.

I guess it's a little pesky bug :)

This can't currently be fixed. The settings sanity check is performed before loading the "scripting" (which actions runs per backup type) as they depend on the settings. It's a chicken and egg issue. You cangive it some dummy database connection information like hostname localhost and then username, password and dbname foobar. It will be enough to let the sanity checker to stop complaining.

Fanx, it worked!

You could put a "proceed anyway" button there to notify the user

OR if that's not possible

You could fill in the host, username and password data to "foo" "bar" and "foobar" with jquery when someone selects "backup only site files"

That's for the user's convenience!
Thanks again.

A couple of years ago you could still take a backup when there was a major error (1xx code) detected. This resulted in many unnecessary support requests as the people never paid any attention to the error message, even when it was in red background and huge letters. Yeah, I know.

I will try to find a better way to handle cases like that in the next version of Akeeba Solo anyway.

You know what happens when you look at a problem one more time, after a few weeks since you last tried to solve it? You find a solution which now seems obvious. That's what happened to me just now. There seems to be an easy workaround. I am now uploading dev release revA9A486C. Would you care to give it a shot?
