Hi - I just upgraded from core to pro, setup Amazon S3 and now am getting 500 AJAX loading error when attempting backup. Hosting is with hostgator shared hosting. I've adjusted timeout and split file size settings from reading other posts on this issue without success. Log file attached - any direction would be appreciated.

Please go to the Configuration page and set:
- Minimum execution time: 1 second
- Maximum execution time: 10 seconds
- Runtime bias: 75%

You have set up an extravagant max execution time, which causes the backup to time out.

I made the changes (with 20 MB as the partition size, the site is around 7 GB). It created 392 partitions, but only the .jpa file (size 9 MB) made it to amazon S3. I tried reducing the partition size to from 20 MB to 5 MB and the backup errored out. Attached is the log from the 5 MB attempt. Please advise, thanks.

According to this log file, the backup never completed. It got stuck while trying to back up your database. I'd recommend deleting a couple of older backups and retrying, then post the new log file if the error persists.

Deleted old backups, ran it again, it completed but did not transmit to S3.

Attached is the log file. Please advise, thanks.

Ah, I see! It's easy. Just follow our S3 troubleshooting instructions (especially the part about disabling multipart uploads) and it'll work :)
