Last version to date.

I just want and administrator to be able to download the pack files to his computer for safe backup on CD/DVD.

I really don’t want to use an ftp client — to complex for that admin...

What to do

I don’t see any way to do that in the core version...

If it’s not there, this should be implemented as it is a major way to securise the backups —± Even a way to automatise the transfert will be great....

Maybe I miss something?

You miss the obvious method. Go to Administer Backup Files. Next to each backup, on the right hand side, there are a few links named "Part 00", "Part 01" and so on. Click on it to download the file. Not recommended, but it should work on most browsers!

I always use ftp - but want to make it easy for non web savy user...

Transférer l'archive (as link)
()Fichier local : Processco-20111130.jpa
Partie 00 ( as Link)

What is the difference between the Transférer l'archive link and the Partie 00

Not recommended ?

Why don't you just click on the link or read the documentation? ;)

The "Transfer your archive" link allows you to upload the archive from your server to the remote storage (Amazon S3, DropBox, CloudFiles, ...) you have configured in this backup profile.

The "Part 00" link allows you to download the archive file from your server to your local PC.

Since Akeeba Backup Core 3.3.5 they are not. It looks like most people demanded free support with their free software and called me various not so nice things in their emails when I told them that they can either read the documentation for free or pay 7.79 to request support for an issue already solved in the documentation. Therefore, I simply removed the feature.

Yes, of course. They were buggy, though, that's why I release a new version a couple of hours ago ;)

Don't worry, this warning message is normal. I just forgot to turn off the developer's debugging mode before making the release :s
