I just clicked the wrong button on an install which clean installed, not upgraded PhocaDownload. While it isn't a 'big job' to recreate the data I thought I would use the system restore point. However they are all obselete?

I assume this is because I send stuff to drop box, but how do I get the last restore point back onto my site & run it?

There is a workaround, but it's a little complicated.

First copy (not move!) the latest files in your DropBox whose name starts with "restorepoint-" to your site's administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup directory. Then, using phpMyAdmin open your jos_ak_stats table. Find the latest entry whose tag column is "restorepoint" and set the "filesexist" column to 1. This will notify Akeeba Backup that the restore point's files exist. No you can go to your restore points view and restore it.

Thanks, will give that a go tonight. & how do I stop restore points being deleted but still allow backup files to be deleted post processing?

About that last question, you will have to update to Akeeba Backup 3.3.7. In fact, I am not sure that your SRP backups are stored in DropBox (due to a bug in the pre-3.0-stable releases) or if they were just removed due to a bug in earlier versions of Akeeba Backup which had to do with the quota handling :(

I have 3.3.7? Have I configured something wrong then?

Can you send me a Personal Message (I'm user nicholas) with the URL to your site, super admin login information and a link back to this thread? I have to take a look to see what is your configuration and replicate it on my test sites for further testing.

Nicholas,

Have upgraded to 3.3.8 and still 'obsolete' restore points!
Have reenabled your account as per the PM earlier.

Have you installed any other extension after you installed Akeeba Backup 3.3.8? All SRPs taken with previous versions, including the one just before Akeeba Backup got updated, WILL be obsolete.

1. Update 3.3.7 to 3.3.8 - Seems fine
2. Update Kunena - Obselete
3. Update Kunena plugin - Obselete

Sent you a screen shot of sql table rows by email.

You are right. There is a bug in the SRP quota code. Can you please install and test developer's release svn1092? I have not kept your previous PMs and, besides, I don't have the installers of the other components on your site so that I can try an update/reinstallation of one of them to test SRPs. If this works for you too, I will publish a new release tomorrow. It's already 2 a.m. over here and my focus is not adequate to allow me to deal with publishing a new Akeeba Backup release :s

Joomla! 1.7 acting up. Grr...

Please go to Extensions, Manage Extensions and uninstall com_akeeba, mod_akadmin, plg_akeebaupdatecheck, plg_oneclickaction and plg_srp, then retry the installation.

For the record, this is a Joomla! bug. I have reported this Joomla! Extensions Installer bug to the Joomla! team, together with a band-aid patch, but it hasn't been accepted yet.

Installed ok but Haven't been able to trigger a system, restore event yet??

Installing any extension which is already installed on your site should trigger the System Restore Point feature as long as the "System - System Restore Point" plugin is published. And I think that's the problem. I told you to uninstall this plugin (plg_srp) previously. Now you reinstalled Akeeba Backup, this plugin got reinstalled too, but it's disabled by default! You have two choices:
1. Click on Components, Akeeba Backup for the first time after the installation. It will present you with the post-restoration setup wizard. Enable the System Restore Point checkbox before saving.
2. Go to plugins manager and enable the "System - System Restore Points" plugin
Then, try installing an extension you already have installed on your site. It should work now.

Can you resend me the PM with the login information to your site? I can not replicate this issue on any Joomla! 1.5/1.7 installation I have access to.

OK reinstalled module again (I was installing new extensions when it wasn't triggering & when I reread your post I tried installing one over the top of an existing DOH!)and has triggered this time. The full backup has gone to drop box & the SRP has the rollback button. Looks like you fixed it.

Is there any way to restore only a couple of tables from the backups I lost? I have the tables in an old backup & it will save me rewriting all the info.

nicholas

There are several ways. I can tell you how I'd do that.

Since you have a full site backup archive, restore it locally (e.g. on a XAMPP local server) or a subdomain of your site, but in any case on a new database. Then, you can go with phpMyAdmin, dump those files and import the dump file on your live site using phpMyAdmin.

Unfortunately the phpMyAdmin provided doesn't seem to have import :( I assume this is my hosts decision so unless there is a way to do an import through joomla I'm stuffed! Any ideas?

If you only lack import, don't despair. The infinite wisdom of Internet has a solution! It's called BigDump, it's written by Alexey Ozerov and it's free. Absolutely the best way to import SQL dumps of any size. Joomla! uses it in the installer and I have based ABI's database restoration on it. It's a fantastic piece of software! Once it saves you, consider making Alexey a well-deserved donation :)

Ah found it. Unlike on XAMP which has an insert tab, i have to click on SQL icon & it pops up a window with import tab? Anyway thanks for all the help and advice.

olaeblue
Import tab not insert
