Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the forum before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? No
Joomla! version: 1.7.1
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.1.56
Host: HostGator
Akeeba Backup version: 3.3.4

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:

Something went really wrong when I uninstalled/reinstalled a Joomla component today. I had a System Restore Point - component: com_k2 Monday, 10 October 2011 09:24 (41.43 Mb, but I was getting a ajax error when I tried to restore that backup.
It seems that this System Restore Point is now gone.

Is there any chance to get my system restored back to com_k2 Monday, 10 October 2011 09:24 (41.43 Mb)

Nicholas needs to look at this. Unfortunately, he is at Joomla!Day Israel today, so I don't know what his availability will be.

Thank you so much for fast reply.

Our site is now down because of this and the backup that HostGator have is back to October 3rd.

I hope Nicholas will be available soon and can help me with this.

Hi,

I would like to first see a screenshot of the Akeeba Backup, Administer Backup Files, Restore Points page in order to get an idea of what you're seeing in that page and understand if the restore point is gone (in which case there's really nothing we can do) or if it's there.

If it's there, I would also like to see the error message you're getting during restoration of the restore point. It will help me understand what is going on there and better help you.

Attached is a screen shot of all my backup files. Some full site backups, some just the databases (not really sure how I could use those).

I unlocked the site so you can see exactly what I see. After I attempt to restore using Kickstart, and then click "Run the Installer" it loads to this page: http://www.therollerskate.com/installation/index.php and I just get a white page.

You are doing it completely wrong. As written in the documentation page:

How do I restore a System Restore Point?

Just go to Akeeba Backup, Administer Backup Files. You will see two links below the toolbar, Backups and Restore Points. Just click on Restore Points to see a list of all restore points. Select the one you want and click on Roll Back.

Hello Nicholas

Attached is a screen shot of all my restore points

When I click on click on Roll Back I'm getting this

The extraction has failed

Extraction of the backup archive has failed.
The last error message was:

AJAX Loading Error: error

Well, all the K2 restore points I see are marked as "Obsolete", which means that their files are deleted. Without the files, we can't restore the restoration point :( Do you by any chance have a copy of your restore point's JPA file stored anywhere?
