Just updated to Akeeba Backup 3.3.4 and the update alert message says there is an update but it says current version 3.3.4 and latest version is 3.3.3...;)

Depending on where your server is, the update provisioning file may take up to 24 hours to be refreshed in the CDN. Until that happens, yes, what you describe does happen.

For good measure, I ran an invalidation again so that the CDN catches up with the changes more quickly :)

My servers are in Florida but this is good to know so I have an answer for clients that freak out when their site is not up to date...;)

When updating to latest version today I get error
"Downloading the update package failed. Make sure that your temp-directory is writable or that you have enabled Joomla!'s FTP options in your site's Global Configuration."

When I enable Joomla FTP which Port should I specify. the Default is currently 0

Also the down load key was previously save on the system, but when I came to download the update, I was told to enter the Download ID. When I looked, sure enough the download key was missing, so had to inset it again and save.

When you are configuring Joomla!'s FTP layer you have to use the FTP port assigned by your host to the FTP server. The most common value is 21.

Regarding the Download ID, I'm not sure why it's missing. But I think that by just entering the correct Download ID this problem should be resolved.

I am being offered an Update, but I when I hit go, there is no update in the Box.

Please retry in three hours. I am doing some work on the CDN as it got stuck and didn't deliver the correct update provisioning files.
