EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:

I'm new to joomla (1 month old) and trying to restore a site from one host to the other.

In my possesion is the .JPA-backup file (I backed up the site using Akeeba backup before the old host switched it off), cridentials to cpanel of the new webhosting company. I do not/did not have login details for the former hosting company.

What I've done so far:

After uploading the backup and akeeba kickstart to cpane, I failed to run kickstart therefore turned to plan B: of using akeeba extract wizard. Thisworked for extracting files but had the 'Cannot connect to databse, check parameters error. I tried all I could but my site could not come up (public forums could not help either).

I lastly turned last option of manually (Unorthodoxy) extractinng the database.
When uploading the db in myphpadmin, I'm havving the error attached:

Your problems are consistent with some very old Akeeba Backup versions (if memory serves, around 3.0.a2). Which is the exact version of Akeeba Backup you are using? If it's a very old release (before 3.2.5) you must take a new backup.

I did the last backup of the site on 28/07/2011 and as at now, the site is off(on former host). The old host is un-reachable. Since i only had access to backend of the site , all I could do was use akeeba backup believing that at restore all will go well.
please advise because the site is off as at (past 11 days)now and my client (prospective employer) is waiting to see how I'll resolve this one. The restoration is being done with a new ISP.

Please send me a Personal Message with the following information:
- URL to the new site
- FTP connection information to the new site
- Database connection information to the new site
- Super Administrator information to that site (for when I restore it)

Also make sure that you have uploaded the backup archive on the site's root. I will extract the archive, download the installation directory, fix the problems in the SQL file, work around the issues in the restoration script, perform the restoration and upgrade Akeeba Backup on the restored site.
