Akeeba Backup version: (3.3.2)

Since my site frontend and backend is down, i cannot attach log file

Description of my issue:

I have a site running in joomla and akeeba backup and akeeba lazy plug-in is used to take back up daily. Emailing of database is scheduled and i used to receive the database in .sql.gz.zip format by email.

Today somehow my database got deleted and i was trying to restore from the backup i received today morning by email. i could not open the zip file containing database. When i double click on zip file. it is asking for password.

I don't remember whether i set any password for zipping the backup file in Akeeba.

Please let me know what is the password i must type to unzip the backup archive.
My database backup is around 5MB size, if you want to see the file, i can mail you or attach.

My site is down. Kindly assist me to restore database ASAP.

Hello Raees,

The Lazy Scheduling plugin is not compatible with Akeeba Backup 3.3.x. We had deprecated it since Akeeba Backup 3.2.5 and removed it in Akeeba Backup 3.3.a1. That said, I suspect the following causes for the problematic backup archives:

1. Not all email clients are capable of downloading the attachments without corrupting them. If you are using GMail or any other web-based email, I strongly suggest trying to use an email application (e.g. Thunderbird) to connect to your server and re-download the attachment. If possible, please do check your backup output directory (by default it's administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup) with your FTP client. If you see the ZIP file in there, try downloading it with FTP in Binary transfer mode.

2. The Lazy Scheduling plugin suffered from a lot of issues, one of them was a very low probability of corrupting the backup archives. If this is the case, you will have to revert to the last known good manually taken backup.
