is there any utility for combining exported files? i have an archived db-only backup, which has files split into small chunks. i would like to combine into a single sql file.

All operating systems have some sort of copy command which can do that. For example, for Windows you can follow the instructions in this tutorial. For Linux (and pretty much all other OS as they're all UNIX-based) there's this tutorial.
