EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue.

Description of my issue:

I just installed Joomla 1.6 , Upgraded it to 1.7 using Joomla's upgraded. The installed Akeeba Backup. I thought I test Akeeba to make sure its working before I build the site. Did back up. the a restore. After deleting installation directories at the end of the restore I get this message.

Infinite loop detected in JError

and their the front end or backend of the site is accessible.
I guess there must be a bug. Can't send log file as can't access site. If you tell me were the log file is kept on the server. I will find it and send it to you. I'' try restoring again with Kick Start.

Please advise

OK, here's what is going on. When Joomla! 1.7 runs across a system error, instead of reporting the error it says "Infinite loop detected in JError". Unless you are a fortune teller, it's virtually impossible to know what the heck is going wrong with your site to debug it.

Thankfully, I am the closest thing to a fortune teller (OK, I'm lying; I just had a similar issue, it took me an hour to figure out and now and I know what the problem is).

Most likely your configuration.php file was not properly written to disk after the restoration and your site can not connect to the database server. Please follow the advice on this thread where I give instructions to work around the exact same issue.

If that doesn't help, please let me know. In that case, please tell me if it's possible for you to give me FTP access to the site in question so that I can do some on-site debugging.

Thanks for the advise. When I re-restored using Kickstart everything worked find. If it happens again I will follow the instructions mentioned above.
