Hello Avi,

There is a workaround, albeit a slightly kludgy one. As soon as Kickstart is done extracting the archive and before you click on the "Run the Installer" button, please create an empty text file (e.g. use Notepad on Windows) called "storagedata.dat" and upload it to the "installation" directory of your site. Give that file 0777 permissions and then go back to Kickstart and click on "Run the Installer". If the installer still complains, try hitting the Next button anyway to get to the next page (Restore DB). You might need to click the button two times to get to that page, but eventually it should just work.

Please let me know if this workaround works for you!

Give that file 0777 permissions to "installation" file or storagedata.dat ??

OK, reality check :D "installation" is a directory, not a file and "storagedata.dat" is a file, not a directory. Therefore "give that file 0777 permissions" of course means "give the storagedata.dat file 0777 permissions". After all, the issue you had was caused by giving 0775 or 0777 permissions to the "installation" directory. I wouldn't ask you to do the same thing that forced you to ask for my help in the first place ;)

At the end of the installation it most likely told you that the configuration.php file wasn't written to disk. In this case you have to copy the new contents (shown in the huge gray box), edit your configuration.php and replace its contents with those you copied from the gray box.

Please also take a look at this documentation page.
