First check if you have a .htaccess file in your site's root. If you do, rename it to htaccess.bak or upload a blank file named .htaccess.

If this doesn't work, please give the installation directory and all its subdirectories 0755 permissions and 0644 permissions on all files inside that directory.

If this still doesn't help, please let me know which exact version of Akeeba Backup you're using; version 3 covers two dozen releases, from 3.0.a1 to 3.3.b1, and won't let me understand the issue. Moreover, please tell me if you are using Kickstart (if so, which exact version) or Akeeba eXtract Wizard to extract the archive. Thank you in advance!

You have a really old version of Akeeba Backup. We're now at revision 785 and your version's revision is 319.

In any case, the installation script seems to be running. So, I guess that you get the error message when you try to restore your database. In this case, please change your database password to only use lower and upper case letters and numbers (a-z, A-Z, 0-9). There is a known issue with Apache's mod_security not allowing the use of complex password (i.e. passwords containing accented letters or special characters like those you get by SHIFT-typing the numbers on your keyboard).

If this still doesn't work, please try to give me more context: what you try to do, step by step, so that I can understand where exactly you get the error message so that I can provide more accurate information. Thank you!

Please try to give me more context: what you try to do, step by step, so that I can understand where exactly you get the error message. Do yo get it in the Restore DB step? Do you get this issue somewhere else?

Also, is it possible to take a new backup of the site with Akeeba Backup 3.3.b1?

Please download the attached file and extract it locally. Upload the extracted files and directories inside your site's installation directory. Then access the installation script as http://www.yoursite.com/installation/index.php and proceed with the restoration. If, after the last step, it tells you that installation.php wasn't written to disk, please copy the contents of the installation.php file (inside the big gray text area), create a new text file named installation.php, paste these in there and upload the new installation.php file to your site's root, overwriting the old file. Finally, remove the installation directory and your site should be ready :)
